TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – With Just 5.1 seconds remaining to be played in the game, Alabama freshman Jordan Lewis grabbed the rebound off her own missed shot and put it back up to score the game-winning basket for the Crimson Tide to defeat the Little Rock Trojans 55-53 on Sunday in Coleman Coliseum in beautiful Tuscaloosa, Alabama. UA now moves to 21-13 on the year and to the round of 16 in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

University of Alabama Crimson Tide women's head basketball coach Kristy Curry said, "We played a really good basketball team today. I have a lot of respect for Coach Foley and his program and have for years. They just make it really hard. They do a great job of shortening the game and really executing. We were fortunate down the stretch to get enough stops. Our energy in the third and the fourth quarter was completely different than the first two quarters. I'll go back and try to work on that these next couple of days. This was just a fun game for our fans, and I appreciate everybody that came out."

This was the second consecutive game that Bama junior Ashley Williams led the Tide in both scoring and rebounding, racking up 15 points and nine rebounds. Also scoring in double figures was UA sophomore Shaquera Wade pumping in 10 points. Lewis put up seven points and added five rebounds, three assists and three steals on the day, while fellow freshman Ashley Knight contributed eight points, seven rebounds and five blocks.

Little Rock (25-9) was led in scoring by senior Sharde' Collins with 20 points. It was Trojans senior Kaitlyn Pratt pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Alabama hit on 21-of-60 (35.0 percent) from the floor, while Little Rock connected on 21-of-52 (40.4 percent. The Crimson Tide led the Trojans in rebounding 38-35, and held a 15-8 advantage on the offensive glass. Bama also outscored Little Rock from the three-point line 38-10.

The Crimson Tide will host the winner of the game between Tulane and Grambling State on this Thursday, March 23rd with a 7 p.m. CT scheduled start time.

Concerning the upcoming contest, Curry said, "We need a great crowd in here Thursday. We need for the Crimson Tide fans to get behind this team and be here for us at 7 on Thursday night."
