TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Believe. Oh yes, believe.

It was a thing of beauty. For the second consecutive season the University of Alabama women's basketball team (16-10, 4-9 SEC) has defeated the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers (16-10, 7-6 SEC). Crimson Tide junior Coco Knight scored a career-high 18 points, while fellow junior Hannah Cook added 16 points to lead the Bama offense to a 65-57 victory on Thursday at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa. With this victory Alabama is able to celebrate the the first time the Tide has claimed back-to-back wins over Tennessee in program history.

Alabama women's basketball head coach Kristy Curry said, "I just love the fact that we were able to be pretty consistent on the offensive end, rebound the basketball consistently and consistently get stops. I thought in the third quarter when they made their run, we never folded. In the past, we've allowed ourselves to play not to lose instead of play to win, so it's good to see the growth and the ability to finish games. I'm really happy for our kids. Every single day they just go back to work. Being persistent and positive is important when you're in this league, and I thought our kids have tried to do that."

Crimson Tide junior Quanetria Bolton was just one shy of double-digits, pumping in nine point on the night. Just one point back was freshman Jordan Lewis with eight. Lewis was also able to tie her career high in assists with eight while adding seven rebounds. It was Bama junior Ashley Williams leading the Tide in rebounds with 11. The Lady Vols were led by redshirt junior Mercedes Russell scoring a team-high 17 points, and redshirt senior Schaquilla Nunn with a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Alabama shot 25-of-71 (35.2 percent) from the field while Tennessee went 22-of-60 (36.7 percent) on the night. The Crimson Tide out-rebounded the Lady Volunteers 53-38, with 22 of those coming off the offensive glass for Bama.

The final two games of the regular season now awaits the Crimson Tide, both of them to be played away from the friendly confines of home. Next up will be the Auburn Tigers down on the Plains, this Monday, February 20th. Tip time is 6 p.m. CT.

HOOVER, Alabama  - There have been a lot of scrapes with the law the past few years concerning current and former University of Alabama football players. The latest is former Crimson Tide running back Trent Richardson who was arrested in Hoover on Thursday on a domestic violence charge.

A 911 emergency call came in to the Hoover Police Department at approximately 8:04 p.m. CT. The report was a possible domestic disturbance at the Hyatt Place Hotel located on John Hawkins Parkway. A second call came only one minute later reporting that yelling was coming from one of the guest rooms, according to Hoover Police Captain Gregg Rector. Officers were responded to the calls at approximately 8:08 p.m. and were escorted to the room of which the complaint had been made.

The contact was an adult male, later identified as Richardson, and an unnamed adult female. The pair were involved in a domestic altercation according to Rector. The pair were interviewed and it was discovered the argument had actually begun earlier at the Walmart just down the road. Reportedly the argument became physical and the woman sustained minor injuries, mainly scratches and bruising to her face.

The victim's injuries were cared for by Hoover Fire Department paramedics at the scene and required no further medical treatment.

The two calls to 911 came from a guest as well as a hotel employee.

Rector stated that Richardson was "cooperative" and "was arrested without incident."
