Alabama Softball Sweeps Mobile In Doubleheader

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The University of Alabama softball had a really good Friday, picking up wins in both games in Friday's doubleheader against Mobile to open fall play. The Crimson Tide shut out the Rams 15-0 in game one before picking up a one-run victory in the finale 2-1.

Bama freshman Madison Preston threw 6.0 innings in game one of the Friday doubleheader, keeping Mobile scoreless while striking out five batters while allowing just three hits. Junior Courtney Gettins pitched 7.0 innings in Friday's second game, allowing only one run and one hit with eight strikeouts.

Next up,  the Tide will host Wallace State in a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT.

SEC Nation, Finebaum To Broadcast From T-Town
For Alabama-Tennessee Football Matchup

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama –  SEC Nation will be coming to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, October 21st to broadcast live, highlighting the "3rd Saturday In October" Southeastern Conference matchup between the University of Alabama and Tennessee. In recent years not many games between the two teams have been played on the once traditional third Saturday in October. The broadcast will air live on the SEC Network from 9 a.m. CT until 11a.m. and will be located in front of Moore Hall. Paul Finebaum will also air lived on his show, The Paul Finebaum Show, from 1-2 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and 2-6 p.m. CT on the SEC Network on Friday afternoon.

All of this weekend's game in the Southeastern Conference are in-conference games, so all standings/records in the SEC are subject to change.

*Just a note.
Outside of the Southeastern Conference the Clemson Tigers were upset on Friday night. Clemson fell to Syracuse 27-24 at the Carrier Dome. Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney will be at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the Alabama Homecoming Game where the Crimson Tide hosts the Razorbacks. The 1992 National Championship team will be honored, on which Swinney played.
