TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – It may have been rough on the outside, but it was tough on the inside as the University of Alabama football practiced for two hours in full pads under the roof of the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility in Tuscaloosa. This was the second practice this week Bama was sent indoors due to the threat of inclement weather. It's true that classes on campus were cancelled for the day, but the student-athletes were ready to practice when the time came. This was practice number seven for the Crimson Tide this spring.

Leading the line of running backs in yesterday's practice was Damien Harris, recovering from a minor ankle sprain in Monday's session. He seemed to making his cuts just fine, and pretty much appeared to be up to speed.

In attendance and watching practice at yesterday's workout was Alabama men's head basketball coach Avery Johnson, as well as former Tide standouts Cam Robinson and Marlon Humphrey.

Alabama will practice again on Friday, and then hold its first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday, April 8th, at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The scrimmage will be closed to the general public. Alabama will hold one more scrimmage prior to the 2017 A-Day Spring Football Game. The annual A-Day Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd, at 2 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN for the second consecutive year and will be free to the public. Joe Tessitore, Joey Galloway and Kirk Herbstreit will be calling the scrimmage game from the sidelines with Laura Rutledge providing commentary and insight on the day's activities.

A clear bag policy will be in effect. Fans are encouraged not to bring any types of bags inside SEC stadiums during football games; however, the following outlines bags that are permitted:
  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12";
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar); and
  • Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand).
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose.
  • An approved logo no larger than 4.5" x 3.4" may be displayed on one side of a permissible clear bag.
  • Fans will continue to be able to carry items allowed into the stadium in a permissible clear bag, such as binoculars and cameras.

Also, beginning today, the Crimson Tide will be hosting the Clinic of Champions. Registration begins at the door at 5 p.m. CT today. The cost is $60 and can be paid with cash, school check or money order (no personal checks). The Clinic of Champions is open to coaches only.
