Classes Begin, Tide Holds Afternoon Practice

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - The student-athletes that make up the University of Alabama football team began classes on Wednesday with the start of the 2017-18 academic year. The Crimson Tide then followed the first day of classroom instruction with a two-hour practice session in full pads with the temperature hovering near 90 degrees outdoors on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

Sidelined since August 14th with a hamstring injury, running back Josh Jacobs was back on the practice field. He was still, however, somewhat hampered.

After going through concussion protocols, Jamey Mosley has been back at practice the past couple of days.

Outside linebacker Christian Miller appeared to have some sort of protective tape covering his left leg. He, too, appeared somewhat limited in Wednesday's practice.

Wednesday's practice was the 18th of 25 total practices during the fall practices sessions leading up to Bama's season-opener with FSU on September 2nd. The Crimson Tide will take on the Seminoles at the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. ABC will be carrying the game, with a broadcast start time of 7 p.m. CT.

Both today's and Friday's practices are scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. CT start. Saturday's practice will begin at 2:30 pm and the team will then take Sunday off. Monday will begin actual game week preparations for the FSU game.
