TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - The University of Alabama football team continues preparation for this weeks showdown with Colorado State this coming Saturday. The Crimson Tide put in another two hours of practice in full pads on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

This will be only the second meeting in the series history between the Crimson Tide and Rams. The last meeting? September 21, 2013. That one ended in a Bama 31-6 victory over State in the Tide's home-opener that year.

Offensive lineman Lester Cotton was still somewhat limited in yesterday's practice, with Josh Casher getting in some work in that right guard position. Matt Womack also got in a little work at the slot.

Linebackers Anfernee Jennings (ankle) and Rashaan Evans (groin) were both on the practice field wearing black no-contact jerseys.

Josh Jacobs was again on the field working, looking better.

Alabama will once again hit the practice field this afternoon for another two-hour workout, and then a light practice on Friday.

The Crimson Tide and the Rams  go head-to-head this Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. CT kickoff, with the game being broadcast live on ESPN2. Mark Jones and Rod Gilmore will be calling the action from the booth, with Quint Kessenich working the sidelines.

TUSCALOOSA Alabama – The University of Alabama women's golf team will open the 2017-18 season this weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championship. This great competition is set for September 15-17 at the par-72, 6,335-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course.

Those representing the Crimson Tide includes senior Lakareber Abe, juniors Cheyenne Knight and Lauren Stephenson, sophomore Kristen Gillman and freshman Angelica Moresco. Moresco will be making her debut with the Tide this weekend.

Alabama has been phenomenal at the Mason Rudolph Championship, winning both the team and individual championships the past two seasons. At last year's tournament Bama carded a record-setting score with a 39-under par weekend that included a 25-under par final round, both of which are Alabama women's golf records. Cheyenne Knight picked up medalist honors with a Crimson Tide record 14-under par 202 (68-67-67). It was Lakareber Abe also posting a Bama-single record nine-under par 63 on the final day of the tournament.

The Crimson Tide women's golf team is currently ranked No. 3 in the Golfweek Preseason Top 30. Bama is one of seven Southeastern Conference teams to appear in the preseason rankings. Joining UA in the top 30 are Arkansas (8), Georgia (9), South Carolina (13), Texas A&M (15), Florida (18) and Auburn (30) all appearing in the Top 30.

Individually, Alabama junior Cheyenne Knight (4), sophomore Kristen Gillman (7) and junior Lauren Stephenson (16) all appear in the most recent Top 30 in Golfweek's preseason individual rankings.

Besides Alabama, it will be Arkansas, Arizona State, Auburn, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Clemson, Houston, Middle Tennessee, North Carolina, Northwestern, South Carolina, UCF, Vanderbilt and Virginia all participating in weekend's championship.

Alabama Swimming & Diving To Open Season

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - It's finally that time of year for those of you that enjoy the sport of swimming and diving. The beauty, the precision - second to none when properly executed. For the fifth-consecutive year, the University of Alabama swimming & diving teams will take on Delta State in the first meet of the collegiate season this Friday at 1 p.m. CT in Cleveland, Mississippi.

Alabama swimming & diving head coach Dennis Pursley said, "Getting in a meet in early gives us something to point to through the first weeks of training. Our swimmers and divers know that we're going to compete very early in the process, so there's no time to waste. Every practice counts. It also gives the coaches a very early look at where everyone is and a benchmark as we move forward. This is especially helpful to evaluate our freshmen since our next two opponents are SEC and national powerhouses."

The Alabama men's and women's 2017-18 teams  combine for 27 newcomers this season with the men totaling 14 and the women 13 taking to the water. Compare that with the juniors totaling 15, the seniors 14 and the sophomores 11.

Another 'Fun' Nick Saban Moment

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - You know sometimes University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban just has to show a little of his "sarcastic wit" right? Sometimes he reaches a bit, but then other times reporters really do ask some pretty stupid questions. As Alabama's most famous "alum" once said in quoting his mother, "Stupid is as stupid does."

Seems during the question and [maybe] answer of the Wednesday press conference, Saban used his wit on a poor reporter asking one of Saban's sometimes "no-no" questions. This particular reporter asked the coach how he planned to used backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa against Colorado State this Saturday.

Saban's response was, "We have decided how we're going to play the guys, and I wouldn't tell you if I did. I don't mind you asking the question, but I don't need to answer it. But I will call Colorado State and tell them exactly what I want to do as soon as we get out of here."

Oh, but he didn't stop there.

"So I'll call them up and tell them who we're playing, when, how long when we're putting them in; we'll tell them the whole thing. Is that alright? Is that alright with you?"

Was this the reporter's first Nick Saban press conference?
