Yesterday evening's Women's College World Series contest between the Alabama Crimson Tide softball team and the Oklahoma Sooners was suspended due to inclement weather and has been rescheduled for today. That game will be resumed this evening at 6 p.m. CT and broadcast live on ESPN2.

The game was suspended as a 0-0 scoreless tie in the middles of the second inning. When the game resumes this evening it will be Oklahoma starting off at bat.

Oklahoma pitching put Bama out with six-up and six-down in two full at-bats for the Crimson Tide. The Sooners put one on base due to a walk in the first inning, but were still unable to get their bats going.

The Southeastern Conference posted wins in yesterday's two games. The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Florida State Seminoles 5-4 in Game One while the Auburn Tigers put a beat-down on the UCLA Bruins 10-3. Auburn and Georgia will meet Saturday in Game Five at 6 p.m. CT.

In addition to the Alabama-Oklahoma game this evening at 6 p.m. CT, the LSU Tigers will face Michigan at 8:30 p.m. CT. The winners of tonight's two games will meet in Game Six at 8:30 p.m. tomorrow night.

Bo Davis Rules Violations Remain Unresolved

In a statement this week by University of Alabama Director of Athletics Bill Battle, the A.D. Said that the potential NCAA rule violations committed by former Alabama football's  defensive line coach Bo Davis remain unresolved.  Battle says they are still awaiting the NCAA report on the issue which led to the resignation of Davis back on April 29th.

Battle said, "I know that Bo spoke to the NCAA after we did and he resigned. We had determined that there were violations and felt like it was in our best interest to separate. I know that Bo spoke to the NCAA in hopes he could reduce any penalty that might come to him. We haven't heard what might come to us. We're still waiting for those answers."

Battle said he would "rather not talk about" specific allegations.

Haylie McCleney 2016 Senior CLASS Award Winner

And the winner is...Haylie McCleney

Alabama senior Haylie McCleney is the recipient of the 2016 Senior CLASS Award, which celebrates senior student-athletes who use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as community leaders.

McCleney is the third Senior CLASS Award winner in Alabama softball history. She joins Charlotte Morgan (2010) and Kayla Braud (2013) as a recipient of the prestigious award. The Senior CLASS award, which stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, is awarded each year to a senior student-athlete that best exemplifies the four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

McCleney commented, "It’s an honor to wear the jersey and be mentioned alongside some of the best players in program history who have also won the award in Charlotte Morgan and Kayla Braud. We’re instilled every day to work hard in everything we do, whether it’s on the field, in the classroom or in the community. We are just trying to make an impact every single day."

McCleney has had an outstanding career, both athletically and academically, as a University of Alabama student-athlete. She is a three-time First Team Academic All-American and a two-time Academic All-American of the Year selection, just the third two-time winner since the award was introduced in 1988. She is the SEC’s H. Boyd McWhorter Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year this season and was the Southeastern Conference’s Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year last year. McCleney holds a 4.0 cumulative grade point average in exercise science.

McCleney is the Crimson Tide's career leader in batting average (.447), on-base percentage (.570), walks (198) and triples (16). She also holds top-five marks in runs (2nd, 279), stolen base percentage (2nd, .944), slugging percentage (3rd, .690), hits (4th, 310) and stolen bases (5th, 118).

Chance Remains Cam Robinson Could Play In 2016

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide opens its 2016 College Football Season on September 3rd against the University of Southern California Trojans. One of the big questions is whether or not Bama offensive lineman Cam Robinson will be playing in that game.

Robinson had been expected to be one of the best lineman available in the next year's NFL draft, but then he and fellow Tider Hootie Jones were arrested last month in Louisiana. Both were sent to jail, and both later bonded out. While most charges between the two were somewhat "minor", but most serious of those was possession of a handgun where drugs were present and possession of a stolen firearm. That felony demands a five-year minimum prison stay if convicted.

According to an ESPN.com report, there is still a possibility that Robinson could play for Bama this coming season. Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has not yet made a decision as to Robinson's status for the 2016 season.

Saban stated, "It's the first time Cam has ever had an issue or a problem. We're handling it and managing it internally, and making him do things to hopefully change his behavior. I'm waiting to see how this whole legal thing plays out because it's not really what it seems to be."

While he is willing to give Robinson the benefit of the doubt for now, eventually all the facts will be laid out (from both sides). So somewhere down the road a definite decision will have to be made. Saban continued, "We'll see what the due process does relative to what the circumstance is and make the best decision for everybody from there."
