Alabama Crimson Tide men's freshman golfer Davis Riley has been named as a PING Honorable Mention All-American. The announcement was made yesterday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Crimson Tider Robby Shelton was named first team All-American by the GCAA earlier in the month. Riley and Shelton gives Alabama two All-American honors in the same year, the first time that's happened since a couple of seasons ago.

Riley had seven top-10 finishes this season. He also earned SEC All-Freshman and Second Team All-SEC honors. Riley matched his career-best finish when he tied for fourth overall with a 6-under par 210 at the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional. Riley tied for fourth in just his second collegiate competition (Olympia Fields/Illini Invitational) with a season-low 208 back during the fall season in 2015. He was able to finish under par five times, as well as winning both of his matchups in the Farmlinks Collegiate Match Play event.

In addition, Riley was second on the Crimson Tide men's team with a 71.75 stroke average per round and a 0.58 average against par. Riley ended the year ranked 36th in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.
