Alabama baseball (30-21 overall, 15-12 SEC) rallied for four runs in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday in Fayetteville, Arkansas to pick up victory number three by a score of 7-4 and sweep the series with Arkansas. This was the first three-game sweep for a Crimson Tide team in Fayetteville since all the way in 2000.
After falling behind in the bottom of the eighth inning as a result of an Arkansas two-run homer, the Crimson Tide bats got busy in the ninth for a four-run flurry to take the win. Both drama and good baseball provided the Tide faithful with a heart-pounding and exciting 7-4 win.
Crimson Tide starter Nick Eicholtz provided 6.0 innings of two-run baseball, while allowing only one earned run. The junior pitcher allowed only three hits and three walks while striking out four Arkansas batters with his 98 pitches on the day. Eicholtz has now allowed only one or no earned runs in seven of his nine Southeastern Conference starts.
Coming up next for the Tide is a midweek game with the Samford Bulldogs. This will be Alabama's final non-conference game of the season. First pitch is 6:30 p.m. CT at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The game will air live on SECN+.

Alabama rowing has earned UA its first-ever medals in the Big Championships. After completing competition yesterday in Oak Ridge, Tennessee at Melton Hill Lake, the Crimson Tide's First Varsity 4+ and Third Varsity 8+ earned top-three finishes.
Rowing head coach Larry Davis said, "To get on the medal podium at the conference championship for the first time was a great accomplishment. Even though we finished lower in the overall standings, a lot of people had great success [yesterday]."
The Tide's First Varsity 4+ turned in a second-place finish yesterday in the Grand Final after having finished Saturday in second in its heat and third overall in the preliminaries. Alabama just did edge out Oklahoma by just under two seconds with a time of 7:42.630. The Sooners and the Tide finished neck-and-neck in the Third Varsity 8+ as well, with Oklahoma taking second place by less than a second ahead of the third-place Alabama crew that finished in 7:10.885.
Alabama’s Second Varsity 4+ finished fifth in its Grand Final (8:03.445). The Tide's First Varsity 8+ beat West Virginia in its Petite Final (7:01.649) and the Second Varsity 8+ placed second in its Petite Final (7:09.311).
Davis continued, "The ability to make changes and come back improved on day two really shows that we’re heading in the right direction. It’s really encouraging. We graduated some great seniors but we also have a lot of talent coming back and a great signing class that will join us next season as well."
The Alabama rowing team collectively placed seventh with 15 total points. Texas won the league title and will earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. Tide senior Olivia Dennis was selected as the team’s representative on the 2016 Big 12 All-Conference Team.
