The University of Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team returns to the hardwood tonight hosting No. 15/13 Texas A&M Aggies. This will be the only regular season meeting between the two teams. Tip off is at 6 p.m. CT.

The Crimson Tide has won three of its last four games, including the last two. Most recently Bama defeated the Missouri Tigers 80-71 this past Saturday. Five different players scored in double figures in that contest.

Because of his outstanding play in the two games last week, RETIN OBASOHAN was named SEC Player of the Week. He averaged 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in the wins over Mississippi State and Missouri. He is the first Alabama player to receive the honor more than once in the same season in 11 years.

Tonight's contest with A&M will be the sixth nationally-ranked team Alabama has faced this season. The Tide is 3-2 in those first five contests. Additionally Bama has faced three other opponents who were receiving votes in the rankings at the time of those games. They were Dayton, Oregon and South Carolina (SC is listed in both since they were ranked in one poll but only received votes in another).

The Tide enters tonight's game ranked at No. 53 in the RPI, as well as boasting the 24th-toughest schedule in the country according to ESPN.com. When playing against the RPI top 50 the Crimson Tide is ranked second in the Southeastern Conference, trailing only Texas A&M.

Alabama is 13-9 overall, 4-6 SEC thus far on the season. The Tide is 4-1 when playing Texas A&M in Tuscaloosa.

Tonight's game can be seen on the SEC Network with Mike Morgan handling play-by-play and Joe Dean handling color/commentary duties. The game will also be available on the Crimson Tide Sports Network with Chris Stewart and Bryan Passink.

Tide Women's Golf Finishes Second At Tournament

After leading round one, then being tied for first in round two the Alabama women's golf team finished second in their first tournament of the spring season. The Tide finished second behind winner Washington at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge yesterday. Bama's score was 864 (+12) when all was said and done on the 54-hole, 6,017-yard Palos Veredes Golf Club course. That score was six shots behind the Huskies.

Crimson Tide head coach MIC POTTER said, "In one sense this was a very successful event in that we beat some of the best teams in the country. We were beaten by a very solid Washington team today, and they hit the shots they had to at critical times during today's round. On the other hand, we had a number of errors over the past two days that cost us keeping it close at the end. We must go home and clean those things up if we are going to continue to compete for championships this spring."

Leading Alabama as top finisher was senior JANIE JACKSON who shot an even 71 yesterday for a three-round total of 212 (-1) to earn a second place tie. Sophomore LAKAREBER ABE shot a 75 (+1) for the final round, earning a tie for fourth overall at 214 (+1). This is now the second top-five finish for the two young ladies. Freshman CHEYENNE KNIGHT ended the tournament tied for eighth at 215 (+2).

Potter said, "I am very proud of Janie, Lakareber and Cheyenne for their top-10 finishes. This gives all three girls something to build on this spring."

The order of finish for the tournament was Washington, Alabama, Florida, USC and then tying for fifth was Duke and UCLA.

The Allstate Sugar Bowl Championship is the next tournament for the Tide. It will be played February 21-23 at the English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans, Louisiana.

ESPN reports that Alabama Crimson Tide football still holds the lead when it comes to the school-of-choice for the nation's top 2017 prospect, DYLAN MOSES. Back on December 31st Moses made Alabama his new leader after having decommitted from LSU earlier.

The five-star prospect/recruit recently transferred to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from the school he was attending in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He is a 6' 2", 220-pound linebacker/runningback.

Moses told ESPN that he chooses Alabama as his leader "because they are more structured." He also cites the defense and head coach NICK SABAN as making a difference between all the others.

Besides Alabama, Moses is looking at Texas, Georgia, Florida, UCLA and USC at his top picks.
