No. 7 Running Back In U.S. Seriously Considering Bama

It could be that the number seven running back prospect in the country, according to 247Sports, may be close to making a commitment to the University of Alabama.  While still uncommitted, Elijah Holyfield, son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield, is close to choosing the Tide, according to Bleacher Report.

The 5' 11", 205-pounder out of Atlanta, Georgia would be a big get for Bama. The running back position has been depleted, and while he wouldn't be here until next year, it would help greatly for 2016.

SEC Media Days

Can you smell it? Yeah, I know you can. Smells like college football, right?

Live. From Hoover, Alabama. It's SEC Media Days. We all get that tingle, that football tingle as we now can begin actually seeing and hearing from our guys on what's coming up in just a few weeks. We can get a glimpse of the competition, too. Hear the smack talk. Yes, even the veiled smack talk from coaches, but it's there from many of them. Like today.

New SEC commissioner Greg Sankey did a good job at his first Media Days as the man at the top. He spoke of change. There's been a lot of it, and more to come.

We heard from Auburn's QB, Jeremy Johnson, who represented both himself and his team well. Ol' Gus Malzahn did his job, and even took a little jab that wasn't hard to figure out.

Jim McElwain is back in the SEC, but instead of representing the Crimson & White, he was with those guys who used to do the SEC proud, and probably will again with him at the helm of the Gators.

Here's a look at what's going on today at SEC Media Days:

Bama Football Championship Coaches-Wallace Wade

William Wallace Wade was the first Alabama head football coach to win a national championship at the University of Alabama. He is credited with national championships in the 1925, 1926, and 1930 seasons.

Wade served as head coach in three different sports: football, basketball, and baseball. He was head football coach at Alabama from 1923 to 1930. He also served as head man at Duke University from 1931 to 1941, and again from 1946 to 1950. His overall record was 171-49-10.

Wade won a total of ten Southern Conference football titles, with four of those coming at the University of Alabama.

He served as the head basketball and baseball coach at Vanderbilt University for two seasons, 1921 to 1923, posting a record of 24-16. He also served as head baseball coach for Vandy from 1922 to 1923, and at Alabama from 1924 to 1927. His record as a baseball coach was  87-45-2.

Wade served as the commissioner of the Southern Conference from 1951 to 1960. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1955. He was honored by the renaming of Duke's football stadium in his honor in 1967 to Wallace Wade Stadium.

Could 5-Star OT Greg Little Be Headed To UA?

Five-star offensive tackle Greg Little has officially decommited from the Texas A&M Aggies, according to Rivals Andrew Bone. Little is the top tackle in the country according to Rivals. He is also listed as the number two overall player in the class of 2016.

But it also appears, again according to Rivals, that the Crimson Tide is to be the beneficiary of the A&M decommitment. Even 247Sports is predicting Alabama by a big margin. The 6' 6", 318-pounder  would be a huge "get" for the Tide.

No announcement is planned until November. He's changed his mind once already. We'll just have to wait and see.
