Robinson, Ragland, Henry on Watch Lists For 2015

Three University of Alabama football players have been named to watch lists for 2015, according to Aaron Suttles of the Tuscaloosa News. Representing the Crimson Tide are A'Shawn Robinson, Reggie Ragland, and Derrick Henry.

A'Shawn Robinson has been named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list. The Bednarik Award each year goes to the best collegiate defensive player of the year. Last season Robinson had 49 tackles, 6.5 tackles for lost yardage, three pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, one forced fumble, and a blocked kick. He played in all 14 games.

Reggie Ragland has also been named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list. Last season he had 95 tackles, 10.5 tackles for lost yardage, 1.5 sacks, three pass breakups, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one quarterback hurry, and one interception. He played in all 14 games. This season he will move from outside linebacker to inside linebacker.

Derrick Henry has been named to the Maxwell Award watch list. Last season he picked up 990 rushing yards and scored 11 touchdowns. He led the Crimson Tide in rushing last season, averaging 5.8 yards per carry.

     Congratulations to these three.

4-Star Upshur Still Considering Tide

It has been only a few short weeks since Philadelphia four-star tight end Naseir Upshur released his top eight college choices to continue his football career after high school, with the University of Alabama being one of those.

The number four tight end in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, appears to have two schools that now stand out above the rest, according to ESPN recruiting analyst Tom VanHaaren. He says that Michigan and Florida State now top the list of eight.

5-Star Terry Godwin Has Bama High On List

According to five-star football prospect Terry Godwin, Alabama and Auburn are now running "neck-and-neck" with Georgia, with whom he verbally committed back in January. He commented that "no one stands out right now", according to AL.com.

Though Godwin was a multi-position player in high school, he prefers being a wide receiver. He believes with his hands, that would be where he could help a team the most.

In-State ILB Markail Benton Eyes Bama

The number two junior prospect for 2017 in the state of Alabama, Markail Benton, says Alabama and Auburn are beginning to separate from the other schools on his list.  The Central High School inside linebacker at Phenix City likes the coaches and facilities, as well as the overall feeling at the two schools. He does, however, also like Florida State and Georgia.

He says it will probably be about this time next year before he is ready to make an announcement as to where he wants to play his college ball.
