STATESBORO, Georgia – The Alabama women's basketball traveled to Statesboro, Georgia and returned to Tuscaloosa, Alabama still undefeated on the young season by dominating Georgia Southern, 84-36 on Sunday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse. Bama took a huge 48-point win, and is the largest road win since January of 1994 for the Crimson Tide (4-0) when UA defeated Troy by a score of 119-43.

University of Alabama women's basketball head coach Kristy Curry commented, "I loved the workmen-like approach that we had ever since we got on the bus in Tuscaloosa. Our senior class did a great job with our leadership and I loved how they came to work today.  They were very business-like, they enjoyed the trip, but when it was time to go to work on the court, they did so today."

Ten different players provided points for the Tide in its first road game of the season. Three UA Crimson Tide seniors scored in double figures for the second consecutive game. Meoshonti Knight led all scorers with 14 points, while Hannah Cook pumped in 13 points and Quanetria Bolton rounded out those scoring in double-digits with 10 points. Sophomore Jordan Lewis contributed nine points and a career-high six steals in her first action of the season after returning from injury, and senior Alana da Silva provided eight points and career-highs in rebounds (9) and assists (5).

Alabama returns to action on Thursday, November 24th for the Puerto Rico Clasico tournament. The Tide will face NC State at 1:30 p.m. CT in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

AUBURN, Alabama - This is the week! It signals the end of the college football regular season for these two teams, and begins bragging rights for another year. It's the 2017 Iron Bowl, being played this year on the Plains on the campus of Auburn University. This top-ranked Crimson Tide will bring its unblemished record to Jordan-Hare Stadium to decide once-and-for-all which team will represent the SEC West against the East in the Southeastern Conference Championship in December.

Concerning the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn football head coach Gus Malzahn answered the question of his thoughts on facing Alabama in the Iron Bowl this year, "They're undefeated and they're number one in the country. That's probably the best way I can answer that right now. I'll be better to answer that on Tuesday after watching a little bit more film."

Malzahn was talking with reporters following Auburn's win this past Saturday. When asked for a comment on how the Iron Bowl will decide the winner of the SEC West, he mentioned his team and said,"I want them to enjoy this and relax their bodies and minds tonight, and then be ready to go. I know they will be ready. They've worked extremely hard getting to this point. That was their goal to begin with. We made that clear, so we'll be ready to go."

Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham offered this comment concerning this Saturday's contest, saying, "I am excited. This is why you play here at Auburn, for games like this against a team like Alabama. They are a very good team, and are going to have to play our best ball to beat them. It is going to be fun."

The Tigers' Derrick Brown said, "I think we have put ourselves in a great position. All we have to do is listen to the coaches and have a great week of practice and just take it to the next game."

AU running back Kerryon Johnson commented, "It's going to be a crazy atmosphere.  It should be one for the ages, but we've got to come out and play because if we don't we'll lose. We've got to protect the ball. We've got to limit our penalties. We've got to execute, and I'm confident that we'll come out on top if we do that."

Alabama and Auburn play this coming Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on CBS and will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT.
