Day three of fall practice at the University of Alabama is in the books. Temperatures yesterday were in the mid-90s with the heat index on a smokin' 106. The team moved up from helmets and shorts to shoulder pads yesterday as the acclimation period for practices progressed. Come Monday the Tide will be in full pads. Practice was midday and took place again at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

There are 25 more practices to go before opening day, September 5th when the Crimson Tide takes on the Wisconsin Badgers for the AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Game time is set for 7 PM CST and will be televised by ABC.

There were a couple of additional injuries to report. Bama's most experienced wide receiver, Chris Black, was held out of practice yesterday. He was working on the exercise bike. Tight end Ty Flournoy-Smith wasn't in black but walking with a limp.

Practice begins today at 2:30 PM CDT and is indeed open to the public. Practice will last two hours and will be followed by an autograph session slated to begin at approximately 4:45 PM. Fans will have approximately 45 minutes to get autographs from the Crimson Tide coaches and players.

Fans will be allowed to enter Bryant-Denny beginning at 1:30 PM through gates 12 and 16, able to occupy the lower bowl (sections A-N). For security reasons all items being brought inside are subject to inspection as fans enter the stadium for both the practice as well as Fan Day activities.

Parents bring their children can register the kids for Big Al's Kids Club, and all fans can register for the Crimson Tide Rewards program located outside the East side of the stadium. That will be at gate 45 beginning at 1:30 PM.

Those fans wanting autographs and to view practice will enter the field through gate 45 and exit by way of the northeast and northwest field gates. Those fans not wishing to view practice but want autographs will enter the field through gate 45 but begin filing in at the conclusion of practice after the autograph session has been set up. According to RollTide.com, fans will be limited to one item per person for autographs, and there will be no posed photographs permitted. Yes, photos are allowed but not posed as it would keep more people from being able to get autographs.

Concession vendors will again be walking through the stadium with items for sale. The concession stands on the West field side (field and mezzanine levels) will be open. One may also purchase Alabama merchandise today, and 3,000 autograph posters will be given away, courtesy of BBVA Compass Bank.

Parking for fan day can be found in the West ten Hoor area of the campus. Two parking decks are also available, as well as surface lots. Persons with disabilities is available on a first come basis, and can be found in the Communications Lot and Wallace Wade Lot.
