Recapping Tuesday's Football Practice
Saban To Speak Later Today



     The University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team continued preparations yesterday for their season-opener this Saturday night. The team practiced in full pads yesterday afternoon for two hours inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.

     Yesterday's session begin at 3:30 p.m. CT and was the 26th of 28 practices prior to kickoff. Only two practice sessions remain before departing Friday for Arlington, Texas where the Tide will tackle the Wisconsin Badgers in their season-opener at the AT&T Stadium for the AdvoCare Classic. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on the ABC television network. Calling the game will be Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Heather Cox.  This will be just the second time the two teams have ever met on the field.

     Bama has two more practices scheduled, today and tomorrow, with both sessions beginning at 3:30 p.m. CT. Coach Saban and certain players will be speaking following this afternoon's practice session.

Bama Men & Women Place 2nd
At Samford Cross Country Opener

     The University of Alabama men's and women's cross country teams opened their season yesterday evening at the Samford Cross Country Opener held at Veteran's Park in Hoover, Alabama. The men came in to finish with 53 points while the women had a total of 59 points, earning both teams a second place finish.

     Head coach Dan Waters said, "It was a good way to get the season started. I thought both teams competed well and ran a great race. That being said, we know we still have a lot of work to do to see the kinds of results we are expecting."

     Both teams will travel to Memphis, Tennessee this Saturday, September 5th to participate in the Brooks Twilight Classic.

How A Few Of Alabama's Recruits Looked Friday Night

     Here's a quick look at how some of Alabama Football's commits looked in action on the high school gridiron this past Friday night.

     Quarterback Jalen Hurts out of Channelview (Texas) High School was 14 of 19 with one interception for 219 yards, according to 247Sports.  Hurt also rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Channelview won the game 57-21.

     Running back B.J. Emmons out of Morgantown, North Carolina from Freedom High School rushed for  125 yards on eight carries and scored four touchdowns. He scored on runs of 50, 18, 23 and also a six-yard pass reception. He had four receptions for 48 additional yards. Clay-Chalkville won that game 61-0.

     Tight end Miller Forristall from Cartersville, Georgia playing for Cartersville High School caught six passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Cartersville won 41-0.

     Wide receiver T. J. Simmons playing for Clay-Chalkville High School out of Pinson, Alabama had 167 yards in receptions, with touchdowns coming on receptions of 57 and 71 yards. He was responsible for six pancake blocks also. Clay-Chalkville won the game 49-15.

     Tight end Brendon Scales playing for Lafayette High School out of Ballwin, Missouri scored on a four-yard reception as well as doing an excellent job on the defensive line. Lafayette won 19-14.

 For Specified Football Games Begins Today



     Anyone interested in attending one of the University of Alabama home football games will get their opportunity. UA is offering a limited number of tickets at just $35 per ticket for a limited time only for certain games. In partnership with title game sponsor Golden Flake, the discounted tickets may be purchased for the football games against Middle Tennessee State (Saturday, September 12th at 3 p.m. CT), Louisiana-Monroe (Saturday, September 26th, kickoff time to be determined), and Charleston Southern (Saturday, November 21st, kickoff time to be determined).

The tickets will go on sale Wednesday, September 2, at 8 a.m. CT and will end on Sunday, September 6, at 11:59 p.m. CT. Tickets included in this limited-time sale are available from visiting team allotment returns. These tickets do not have any pre-loaded concessions/merchandise value to be redeemed.

     There is also a limited amount of tickets  the Tide’s game against Arkansas, set for Saturday, October 10, and are priced at $85 each. There is a limit of 4 tickets per order for the Alabama-Arkansas game.
