Alabama Football Continues Prep For Arkansas
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Not many are giving Arkansas any kind of chance at all against the top-ranked University of Alabama football teams this Saturday, but Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is having none of it! He's putting Bama through it's paces as though 0-6 instead of 6-0 as UA prepares to welcome the Arkansas Razorbacks to Bryant-Denny Stadium on October 14th.
Practice continued on Tuesday for the Tide, with both inside and outside work. As is the norm for Tuesday practice sessions Bama was dressed out in full pads yesterday. Alabama worked out in both the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility as well as outside.
Wide receiver Calvin Ridley was back at practice yesterday following the thigh bruise he received in the game this past Saturday with Texas A&M. Tony Brown wasn't spotted on Tuesday during the media viewing portion of practice.
The game plan is being put into effect to prepare for the balanced Razorback attack, with Arkansas featuring the fifth-best scoring offense in the Southeastern Conference putting up an average of 32.6 points per game. This will be the 28th meeting between Alabama and Arkansas, with the Tide holding a 17-8 edge (after vacations). Bama won last year's contest in Fayetteville 49-30, as well as capturing a 27-14 victory at Bryant-Denny Stadium back in 2015.
Alabama hosts Arkansas this Saturday, October 14th at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. Game time is set for 6:20 p.m. CT, and will air live on ESPN. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will call the game from the booth, with Maria Taylor working the sidelines.

Crimson Tide Soccer Drops Match To Auburn
University of Alabama soccer head coach Wes Hart said, "We're discouraged with this being our fourth loss in a row. We're playing good opponents, and they're making us pay. They're making the most out of their opportunities. I'm not dissatisfied with the soccer that we're playing, but we just lack quality in the box."
Offensively it was Bama junior Abbie Boswell leading the Crimson Tide picking up a season-high two goals on seven shot attempts (3 shots on goal). Also showing up big for the Tide was redshirt freshman Chloe Maize turned in a career-high night, launching five shots with one on goal. Chatham Deprospo took four shots and Emma Welch took three.
Next up for Alabama will be on Sunday, October 10th when Mississippi State comes to town to play at the Alabama Soccer Complex for the Power of Pink match and Senior Day. Match time has been set for 5 p.m CT.

Alabama clinched its fifth JPNI title in the last six years and ninth all-time with the wind, coming over the past 12 years. This makes the second team championship in three outings for UA men's golf this fall. Bama also shared team honors at the season-opening Carpet Capital Classic. The Tide's only loss of the year was to top-ranked Texas A&M earlier in the season, with the Tide's record now standing at 37-1-1 for this season.
Alabama men's golf head coach Jay Seawell commented, "It's great to win this event. I'm really proud of our guys and how they handled the final five or six holes, because it got really tight. I think they learned from the last two tournaments they played, so as a coach I am really proud of that."
Runner-up in the event was 11th-ranked Auburn (282-278-267/841). Seventh-ranked Baylor was third at 12-under-par, followed by BYU and Arkansas to to round out the top five.
"I think we have a team that want to be winners and care about each other," Seawell said. "In the ups and downs, we had a lot of guys bounce back and do things properly. When things don't go your way, it's real easy to get selfish and none of our guys did that. I was really proud of they played great team golf today. It was another great win at the Jerry Pate, who is always so kind to give his time and money to make this a special event for everybody. So for us to win it, which we've done a few times now, makes it even more special."
Alabama plays its final tournament of the fall portion of its schedule at South Alabama's Steelwood Collegiate October 28-29 in Loxley, Alabama.
