Alabama soccer head coach Wes Hart said, "Another good performance from our team against a quality opponent. I am very pleased with where we are at this point. Today was a great way to end our preseason. We are exactly where we want to be heading into our season opener against Sam Houston State. I was disappointed in allowing the equalizer late in the game, but obviously I am incredibly happy with our response. Once again, we had some great individual performances."
The Crimson Tide managed five shots in the scoreless first half while limiting Troy to only two as both defenses held. It was in those opening 45 minutes of action that Bama's Stratton earned two of her saves.
Alabama dominated the Trojans in the second half, running off 14 shots, including seven on goal. Clarida punched in a header from a corner kick from sophomore Christina Martensson giving the Crimson Tide a 1-0 lead.
It was approximately 29 minutes later that Troy managed to tie things up on a free kick from Troy's Nicole Strahl. However, just 22 seconds later Clarida was awarded a penalty kick to give the Tide the lead once again at 2-1, which was also the final.
The Crimson Tide led 19-6 in shots, including a 9-5 advantage in shots on goal and a 4-0 lead in corner kicks in the contest. Those nine shots on goal for the Crimson Tide came from seven different players.
Alabama returns to action this Friday, August 19th to officially kick off the 2016 soccer season against the Sam Houston State Bearkats at the Alabama Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. CT.
Attendance is free for all fans and students.

Crimson Tide Football Takes Sunday Off
The University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team took a well-deserved day off yesterday before going back to work later today in preparation for the 2016 football season. The Tide has been through a grueling 12 practices in 10 days. Alabama will open the season Saturday, September 3rd against the Trojans of Southern Care in the AdvoCare Classic inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be broadcast on the ABC Network.
Bama is back on the practice field today. In fact, the Tide will be practicing twice today, their third and final two-a-day of Fall Camp. Practices are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. CT and 7:30 p.m. CT.

Here are a few of the comments and photographs of Fall Camp so far this year, and more specifically, the first scrimmage of the year on Saturday.
Alabama head football coach Nick Saban on the Crimson Tide's first scrimmage this past Saturday:
"If I was going to give an overall assessment, I'd say the first teams executed fairly well and I think after that, we've got a lot of guys that really need to work hard on having a better feeling about the expectation of the kind of effort, the kind of toughness, the kind of responsibility you have to have to actually know how to do your job on a consistent basis and do it enough that you have confidence in what you're supposed to do, how you're supposed to do it the way it needs to get done so you have the best chance to be successful so we're a work in progress when it comes to that."
Concerning what was learned during the first scrimmage:
"This is an indication of where we are," Saban said. "It gives us a much better barometer of things we need to improve on to get better, each guy individually, as well as each unit, as well as our team. We had some guys who did really, really well out there today."
Concerning the play of the quarterbacks at the first scrimmage:
Following the scrimmage, Saban commented on Jalen Hurts, saying, "Jalen is a very talented guy, and I thought he did some really good things out there [Saturday]. I think he does really good things each and every day. I think the key for both younger guys (Hurts and Blake Barnett) is consistency in performance, taking care of the ball and taking what the defense gives and being satisfied with that."
Saban said, "(They) all (Hurts, Barnett, Cooper Bateman ) had an equal opportunity with each group actually, so I think it sort of gave us a good idea who might be most ready to manage the team, but I think that decision is far from getting made. Just my feeling based on watching the scrimmage today on the field. But I'll watch the film and sort of see, get a better feeling for how many balls got dropped and did they throw it in the right place all the time, how did they execute, what was their decision-making, how did they manage the team, what was their leadership like (and) how did the team function when they were in there. I think when we watch the film, we'll get a little better feel for that."
Concerning running backs:
"The young guys (sophomore Bo Scarbrough, freshman B.J. Emmons, sophomore Damien Harris and freshman Joshua Jacobs), I think, all did a pretty decent job," commented Saban. "I think that we're very encouraged by what they've been able to do daily in practice, and I feel like those guys can certainly be contributors for us. B.J. is a very naturally instinctive guy, really works hard, has got a lot to learn, but he is working hard at it and has done a really good job so far."
Concerning Harris, Saban said, "Damien Harris, I think, has done a pretty good job so far. We just gotta keep working those guys, and I think they're all gonna make a contribution to the team this year."
"We’ve got to be able to run the ball with a little more consistency,” Saban said after Saturday’s scrimmage. “We had probably too many penalties out there, the first time we had a full crew of officials, which is a good thing that we can learn from."
Concerning what to look for in practices this week, Saban said:
"What we need to do is get the good players playing really, really well. We’ve got to get the younger players and the backup players to play with a lot more consistency so they can develop a role on this team so that we have more guys that can go in there and contribute and play winning football. That’s the key to the drill."
