And then there were none.
The University of Alabama football team completed its third and final two-a-day practice of Fall Camp yesterday. The morning session began at 9:30 a.m. CT in full pads on the Drew-Thomas Practice Fields. The second session began at 7:30 p.m. with the Tide working in shells. Bama has now completed half of its allotted 28 practice sessions prior to the kickoff of the 2016 football season.
Linebacker Keith Holcombe, who had missed some practice time last week, didn't participate in all drills yesterday.
Cornerback Kendall Sheffield wasn't seen during the media viewing period for the second consecutive practice.
The Crimson Tide will open with the University of Southern California on Saturday, September 3rd. Alabama will enter the contest ranked No. 1 in the nation. USC is ranked No. 17. The Tide and the Trojans square off in the AdvoCare Classic inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with a start time of 7 p.m. on the ABC Network.
It's back to single practice sessions beginning today, then classes at the university are scheduled to begin tomorrow. Alabama's second scrimmage of the Fall Camp is scheduled for Saturday inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Tide's Davis Riley In 2016 U.S. Amateur

The U.S. Amateur features a field of 312 golfers that will be cut to the top 64 golfers following two days of stroke play. Then those 64 golfers will then move on to single-elimination match play in turn culminating in a 36-hole championship match.
Riley reached the semifinals of match play at the 2016 Western Amateur championship.

Bama Men's Basketball Picks Up Graduate Transfer

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide has picked up another graduate transfer. Six foot seven Bola Olaniyan out of Southern Illinois will be playing for Bama this season as a center, according to ESPN last night. Final approval for the transfer is expected today. Olaniyan averaged 7.8 points and 8.8 rebounds last season.

The University of Alabama volleyball team faces four foes during the month of August to begin the 2016 season. First up is the Hurricane Invitational to be played in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Bama gals will face South Dakota at 10 a.m. CT on August 26th followed by Tulsa that same evening at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday, August 27th the Tide faces University of the Incarnate Word at 11 a.m.
Next up, and closing out the month, will be a home contest, with the Tide hosting Samford University on August 30th at 7 p.m. This particular contest can be seen on SEC Network +.
