Football Recruiting
Six-feet five inches of offensive power with a 285-pound frame spells trouble for defenses. 5-Star offensive tackle Jonah Williams out of Folsom, California is a solid verbal commit to the University of Alabama football program. Coming out of Folsom High School for 2016, Williams is the No. 16 prospect coming out of the state of California, according to Rivals.com. Nationally he is ranked No. 24.
Williams tweeted:

Next up on the commit list to Alabama football is a 2017 prospect out of Morton High School in Morton, Mississippi. 6' 1", 180-pound wide receiver D.D. Bowie has selected UA. His ball skills, strong hands, quickness, size, and ability would make him a good addition to the Crimson Tide.
Bowie was being recruited by several teams, including Mississippi State, Southern Miss and LSU. Besides Alabama, he also had an offer from Ole Miss.

QB Blake Barnett Working With QB Guru
AL.com reports that Alabama freshman quarterback Blake Barnett has been working with renowned quarterback guru George Whitfield, Jr. Barnett is serious about the Alabama starting QB job, thus the ultra-successful Whitfield.
Barnett began seeing Whitfield in early May, but now that summer classes have begun Whitfield will be coming to Barnett. Whitfield actually will be adding Barnett to already planned trips to work with Jameis Winston.
Barnett is actually expected to redshirt this season. However. working this early with Whitfield should help his technique and help him along in his development to be ready to make a run at the starting position in 2016.

Bama Players Make Phil Steele Lists
One of the absolute best college football prognosticators has released several of his pre-season lists. That would be the man who's magazine I deem a "must-have" for every serious college football fan. That man is Phil Steele.
Let's take a look at his All-American list first, well, at least the University of Alabama portion of that list. Offensively no one made first team, but have no fear, we did have some of our Bama boys attain the honor on second, and third teams. On Phil's list for second team All-American is tight end O.J. Howard. On the third team on Phil's list are running back Derrick Henry and center Ryan Kelly. Defensively Phil has linebacker Reggie Ragland on first team, as well as defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson. Punter J.K. Scott made second team, and Eddie Jackson was fourth team.
Phil's All-SEC selections include six Bama players on first team. They are center Ryan Kelly, running back Derrick Henry, linebacker Reggie Ragland, defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson, defensive back Eddie Jackson, and punter J.K. Scott. Tight end O.J. Howard made the second team.
