4-Star Jaquan Yulee Commits To Bama
The University of Alabama football program has been on a roll of late. Okay, for many years now it's been Roll Tide Roll, but the "of late" here is the number of recruits Bama has picked up in the past week. And yesterday another big one chose the Tide.
4-star inside linebacker Jaquan Yulee has committed to the Crimson Tide. Out of Indian River High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, the 6' 1", 240-pounder is the number one inside linebacker in the state of Virginia, number two at his position nationally, and is ranked number 54 overall by Scout.
Yulee stated, "It was a really tough decision. All the schools really were behind me through the whole process. In the end, academics and where I felt at home were the main factors."
He said that once his decision has been made the stress lifted. A lot of people were after this 2016 prospect.
The tradition and the process also influenced him. "When it comes to Alabama, they're just unbelievable. They have a lot of talent and I just love the football program," he said.

Crimson Tide Football 1926 National Championship
Yesterday I began a brief rundown of the University of Alabama's National Championship football teams. We'll take a look at all fifteen, one day at a time.
The second national championship football team from Alabama was in 1926. The Tide was once again coached by Wallace Wade and completed an undefeated regular season at 9-0-0. Bama was again the winner of the Southern Conference championship, and was again invited to the Rose Bowl. This time Alabama faced Stanford on January 1, 1927 in Pasadena, California. The outcome was a 7-7 tie, finishing the season at 9-0-1. Outstanding player of the game was Fred Pickhard. This time Alabama was selected as the National Champion by the Helms Athletic Foundation.

The awards and honors keep stacking up for Alabama junior golfer Emma Talley. Talley has been named the winner of the Honda Sports Award for golf by The Collegiate Women's Sports Awards (CWSA).
"I am truly honored to win the Honda Award for Golf," Talley said. "Just being a finalist was special for me, so to win the award over such a talented group of finalists is amazing. My win a the NCAA Championships was a dream come true, and I want to thank coach Mic Potter, coach Susan Rosenstiel and all of my current and former teammates. I would not have this opportunity without all of the guidance and inspiration they have provided throughout my time at Alabama."
The Honda Sports Award is presented annually by the CWSA to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports. With this honor, Talley becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2015 Honda Cup, which will be presented on June 29 in a live nationally televised broadcast on CBS Sports Network at 8 PM CDT from Los Angeles, California.
"I could not be more excited for Emma," Alabama head coach Mic Potter said. "The Honda Award for Golf is one of the most prestigious honors in our sport and Emma is very deserving. I can't say enough about her performance at the NCAA Championships. Her consistent excellence over four rounds, and her dedication to playing one shot at a time is why she is one of the best amateur players in the world. Emma has become such a complete player, a great competitor and a tremendous ambassador for our program. She is a truly special student-athlete and the epitome of the complete student-athlete."

Blake Sims Released By Toronto Argonauts of CFL
Blake Sims stay in the Canadian Football League was rather brief. Only nine days, in fact, was Sims a part of the Toronto Argonauts organization.
Most every Alabama football fan was pulling for Blake. This was his third attempt at professional football. This time he got signed, but just couldn't stay.
Toronto decided to go with a seasoned fourth quarterback because of a key injury situation. Ricky Ray had some off-season should surgery and his return is not yet assured, as least how soon he might return.
"It was just a situation," Milanovich said of Sims' release. "We usually try to keep a rookie quarterback as our fourth guy. With Ricky and his shoulder, I think we just thought it was going to be better to look for some veteran guys to possibly fill that spot this year. ... We didn't know what Ricky's scenario was going to be and we still don't. But I don't know if it would be wise not to strengthen that room with a guy that's a veteran, which we haven't done yet but I expect us to soon."
