Alabama soccer head coach Wes Hart said, "Disappointing result. We came here trying to take three points away. I felt we played well in the first half. Going into the locker room, we were confident that we could win this game. We had more possessions, territory and chances, but UF came out in the second half with some energy and put us on our heels. The early goals gave them even more lift. I was proud of the way our team kept competing. We must now focus our attention on Tennessee. We can't let these past few results get us down. We played two top-10 teams very tough on the road."
It was Bama junior Abbie Boswell leading the Crimson Tide in shots with three and one on goal, while both Jimenez Delgado and senior Alexis Mouton took two shots apiece. Stratton made five saves in the net.
UA will host No. 21 Tennessee at the Alabama Soccer Complex on Thursday, September 28th. Start time for the match is at 6 p.m. CT. Thursday's SEC match will be broadcasted live on SEC Network.

What Vandy Had To Say After
Saturday's Loss To Top-Ranked Alabama
Photo Credit: UA Athletics/Kent Gidley |
No doubt most of the nation, including Vandy fans, saw the 59-0 shellacking the Alabama Crimson Tide gave the Vanderbilt Commodores as humiliating. So what did players and the head coach have to say when it was over and the team was able to swim to shore.
Vandy head coach Derek Mason said, "Credit Alabama. Alabama is exactly what we thought they were going into the game. They're great defensively, they're well-coached, and they're physical. We got in a hole early and it snowballed on us. We struggled offensively and defensively on third downs. We struggled to get third downs on offense and struggled to get off the field on third downs on defense. ... We were out-coached. We looked like a tired team at the end. ... We got out-classed. ... We have to go back to work now. I'm more concerned about our response and making sure one doesn't become two."
On how to keep one loss from turning into two, Vandy safety Ryan White said, "It is simple. We just have to get back to work when we get back on the practice field. Just have to send a message to everybody so they know it was only one game and it doesn't define our season. So we just have to bounce back and get back to work."
Concerning the difficulty in trying to contain the Alabama rushing attack, Commodore safety Emmanuel Smith said, "It was difficult. We practiced for it and planned for it. But at the same time, they had a better ball team than we did today. They came out and showed it on the field."
