Alabama Baseball Hosts Jacksonville State Tonight

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The University of Alabama baseball team plays host to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks tonight at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in beautiful Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the non-Southeastern Conference contest and second game of the
season series between the in-state foes. The Crimson Tide and Gamecocks
are set for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch. The game will be broadcast live on SEC Network+ with Eli Gold on play-by-play and Lance Cormier on color/analysis.
Tonight's matchup will be the 37th overall and the second of this season, with Bama holding a 28-8 all-time advantage in the series, including a 24-5 mark in
games played on its home field. The Gamecocks came away with a 2-1
win in 10 innings when the two teams met earlier this season on February 28th.
The win by Jacksonville State snapped the UA 11-game winning streak at
home over JSU.
Following tonight's game, Alabama will welcome the 15th-ranked
LSU Tigers to The Joe for a three-game series to be played Thursday through Saturday. The
series opener will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 at 6:30 p.m. CT. Friday's matchup is set for a 6 p.m. CT start with the series
finale on Saturday scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. The final two games of the
series can be seen on SEC Network+.

Alabama Track & Field Men & Women
Now Ranked In Top-10

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The Alabama Crimson Tide men's and women's track and field
teams are now both ranked in the top-10 in the latest U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Rankings that were released Monday. The men's team is ranked No. 5 this week, while the women moved up 10 spots to
No. 10. The UA men rolled 204.45 points overall while the women's team earned 135.07 points.
Regionally, the men are ranked No. 1 in the South region for the
third-consecutive week, while the women remain at No. 3 for the second-consecutive week.
The national team rankings are compiled by a mathematical
formulae based on national descending order lists and data taken from
previous seasons. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to
create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of
achieving the top spots in the national team race. Ranking points do
not equate with NCAA Championships team points.
The University of Alabama Crimson Tide will compete in the SEC Relays at LSU, April 28-29, the
final scheduled regular season meet for the Crimson Tide before the SEC
Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 11-13 at
the University of South Carolina.

Bama Softball Faces Samford Tonight

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - The Bama belles that make up the University of Alabama Crimson Tide softball team (37-11) will travel to Birmingham, Alabama to take on Samford (21-29) tonight at Samford Softball Stadium. The contest is scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch.
UA comes in at No. 14 for the second-consecutive week in the NCAA
Rating Percentage Index. The Tide is also ranked No. 12 in the most
recent USA Today/NFCA poll and the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
Bama is second in the Southeastern Conference in strikeouts (408), with the SEC-leading Florida Gators as the only other team with over 300 this season.
Alabama also ranks second in opposing batting average (.167) and hits
allowed (187), and is third in walks drawn (210), earned run average
(1.55) and fielding percentage (.978).
The Crimson Tide is 22-2 versus Samford.

In-Stater Asa Martin Receives Bama Football Offer

University of Alabama football has extended an offer to 6' 0", 195-pound Asa Martin to continue his football career for the Crimson Tide. Martin received the offer on Saturday during his trip to the Alabama A-Day Spring Game.
New UA offensive coordinator Brian Daboll has been in contact with Martin regularly and has been impressed with the play of the young man. Martin has commented, concerning Daboll, that "...I like him."
Martin plays safety for Austin High School, and is regarded as a four-star prospect and is the fifth-rated in-state prospect. Reportedly the Florida Gators top his preferred list, followed by Auburn.
