The University of Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team came back from being down 3-1 today to score three unanswered runs, ending with a huge home run in the eighth inning to send the Missouri Tigers packing 4-3 in the elimination game in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.
Bama scored first as Casey Hughston hit a deep middle shot that drove in Mikey White in the first inning with two outs. A defensive struggle ensued up until the fifth inning when the Tigers picked up a two-run double taking the lead 2-1. Mizzou picked up their third and final run in the sixth inning giving them a 3-1 lead.
The Tide loaded the bases in their half of the sixth inning with two outs. Cody Henry blasted the ball just over the head of the pitcher near second skipping on into the outfield scoring Mikey White and Hughston to tie the game at three-all. 10 of Bama's 12 runs in the tournament have now been scored with two out.
Bama's final run came on a home run off the bat of Will Haynie in the seventh, with the game ending 4-3 to eliminate Missouri from the tournament. Haynie had struck out an Alabama-record 80 times, but stepped up big to advance the Tide when they needed it most.
Alabama has won nine of their last 12 games. Bama scored four, had six hits, and one error. Mizzou scored three with six hits and one error. The Crimson Tide will now face the loser of the Vandy-Texas A&M game tomorrow at 3 PM CDT.

Softball
The 2015 Tuscaloosa Super Regional Softball Tournament begins tomorrow in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Crimson Tide will meet the Oklahoma Sooners in Game 1 at 6:00 PM CDT on Friday. The two are scheduled to again meet for Game 2 on Saturday at 4 PM. And if needed, Game 3 will be set for 7 PM, also on Saturday.
Individual Super Regional General Admission - Brickyard tickets will be available for purchase on game day at Rhoads Stadium according to rolltide.com.

Women's Golf

The Crimson Tide women's golf team begins play at the 2015 NCAA Championships tomorrow at the Concession Club in Bradenton, Florida. The course is a par-72, 6,468 yard work of beauty.
Head coach Mic Potter has led the team for 10 years now, and has taken Bama to the NCAAs all ten seasons. The team has finished in the top ten at the NCAAs for five consecutive years now. He also led the program to its first NCAA Championship back in 2012.
Bama will play the first two rounds with Purdue and Texas Tech. Tee time for Bama is 11 AM CDT in the first round tomorrow from the number ten tee. The Tide will then go first at 6:30 AM on Saturday.
The Tide has appeared in the NCAAs a total of eleven times, with the last ten under Potter's leadership. Alabama, UCLA, and USC are the only teams to qualify in each of the past ten years.
Tuesday, May 24 will be the quarterfinals and finals, with the winners advancing to the championship round on Wednesday the 25th.
Football Recruiting
AL.com reports that 2016 QB prospect Ervin "Woody" Barrett has announced that he would make his selection of the college he wishes to attend on June 3. One of the top quarterbacks in the 2016 class, Barrett will make his announcement from West Orange High School.
Barrett, who hails from Winter Garden, Florida, is listed as a four-star quarterback and ranked as the number six dual-threat player in the 247Sports composite rankings.
Rumors coming from those close to the situation say the Tide might be his number one choice. However, 247Sports shows that Auburn is the team to beat for his services. Barrett visited both campuses back in March.

Football
The University of Alabama Crimson Tide has odds of 7-1 to win the 2015 National Championship in football, according to Bovada. The Ohio State Buckeyes are only slightly higher at 7-2 odds. Third is TCU at 10-1.
Just because...the other state team down the road is sitting at 12-1 odds.

Men's Basketball
According to 247Sports, University of Alabama head basketball coach Avery Johnson has reportedly hired David Miller to "fill a video/operations position" for the Crimson Tide. He is the son of former college and NBA assistant coach Dave Miller. currently an analyst for Los Angeles Lakers basketball games.
David Miller has spent the last two years as a graduate manager at Arizona. Prior to that he spent three years as the undergraduate manager for the Wildcats.
