The roll came to an abrupt stop Friday for the fourth-ranked Alabama women's softball team. The Tide managed only one run, and that came in the third inning, as Bama fell to the No. 7 Auburn Tigers by a score of 7-1, thus eliminating them from the Southeastern Conference Softball Tournament.
Bama's only score in the third came on an RBI single from Haylie McCleney. That was one of just four hits on the day for the Bama bats.
Auburn broke the Tide's back scoring five of their seven runs in the first three innings. Tide starting pitcher Leslie Jury (10-4) suffered the loss. Sydney Littlejohn came on in relief after two, giving up just two runs.
Alabama falls to 42-12 while Auburn improves to 48-9.
Now the wait begins for Alabama as to their postseason fate. The field of 64 for the NCAA Tournament will be announced by the NCAA on Sunday, May 10 at 9 PM CDT live on ESPNU.

It was an opening round victory victory for the Crimson Tide women's tennis team on Friday afternoon in the 2015 NCAA Championship. Number 13 Alabama downed the Samford Bulldogs by a score of 4-0 at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The Tide meets Clemson this afternoon in the second round match at 1 PM CDT. The winner advances to the Sweet 16 in Waco, Texas.
Alabama head women's tennis coach Jenny Mainz said, "I feel like we got off to a really fast start and did a good job of carrying that from doubles to singles. "Our team did a good job of playing on our terms in front of an electric home crowd, and we're very pleased with the result."
This is the fifth consecutive season that Alabama has advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. They face the Clemson Tigers who earlier defeated South Alabama 4-0. Clemson leads the all-time series against Bama 8-1.

"It was a well-played game on both sides," commented Alabama head coach Mitch Gaspard.
"Both Vincent and Haynie ran into one, and both of their balls were
well-hit. This was a good win for us, with not only those two, but the
whole team contributing tonight."
Taylor Guilbeau turned in another strong pitching performance providing just over six innings of work. He allowed only two earned runs on seven hits, walked two, and struck out eight before sitting down in the seventh.
Game two is this afternoon at 3 PM CDT with the game being aired on SECN+. Freshman right-hander Jake Walters will take the mound for the Crimson Tide while righty Rocky McCord takes the mound for the Tigers.
