It will be the first game of 2016 in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers come a-acallin' on Nick Saban's top-ranked ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE this Saturday, and the boys from Bama are working hard to be ready. The Tide worked out in full pads Tuesday afternoon during a
two-hour practice on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields in beautiful Tuscaloosa.
The Bama defense is working to prepare for a Hilltopper offense that hit the Rice Owls with 649 yards of total offense and put 46 points on the scoreboard last week. WKU also received votes in this week's college football polls. In his third season as head coach, Jeff Brohm brings his 21-7 career record and 2015 Conference USA Champion Western Kentucky to T-Town on Saturday.
In quarterback drills yesterday the pairing was Jalen Hurts with Blake Barnett, then David Cornwell and Cooper Bateman.
Cam Sims didn't practice again due to the bruised shoulder he received in last Saturday's contest with USC. Head football coach Nick Saban earlier had stated that Sims was "questionable" for the contest with WKU this Saturday.
New Tide offensive analyst Steve Sarkisian was on the sideline watching the quarterbacks and receivers during the media viewing period.
The Crimson Tide will be in full pads today for their practice today.
Alabama and Western Kentucky will square off at 2:30 p.m. CT this Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2, with Beth Mowins, Anthony Becht and Rocky Boiman handling the announcing duties for the network.

Just as in season's past, honors keep rolling in for members of The Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Bama senior defensive end Jonathan Allen and freshman offensive tackle Jonah Williams
were named yesterday the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week and

first for Williams.
Allen was instrumental in leading an Alabama defense that all but shut down the 20th-ranked USC Trojans, limiting them to just 194 yards of offense and six points in the Crimson Tide's crushing 52-6 victory. Allen produced a team-high two sacks for a loss of 15 yards along with four solo tackles and two pass break-ups.
Bama's defensive play up front, led by Allen, Bama muffle a Trojan rushing attack that averaged more than 180 yards a game in 2015 to just 64 yards on 30 carries, an average of just 2.1 yards per attempt. The Crimson Tide defense forced the Trojans into nine three-and-outs and one four-and-out in 16 possessions this past Saturday, with five of USC's possessions resulting in zero or negative yardage.
Jonah Williams stepped up big in his collegiate debut as Alabama's starting right tackle. The young man helped in a 465-yard offensive effort and was key in opening holes and protecting the quarterbacks.
