Looking At Day 2 Spring Football Practice
Spring break is over and it's back to work for the University of Alabama football team. Bama returned to the practice field yesterday afternoon in shorts and helmets for approximately two hours yesterday afternoon for the second of fifteen spring practices. The practice was held outside on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields with sunny skies and comfortable temperatures greeting the players.
AL.com reported that LESTER COTTON, JUCO transfer CHARLES BALDWIN and early enrollee JONAH WILLIAMS were all working out at the left tackle position. Big CAM ROBINSON, who normally anchors that spot, is recovering from an injury.
ROBERT FOSTER was zipping up and down the practice field yesterday. Foster looks to be mostly recovered from his shoulder injury last season.
Alabama head coach NICK SABAN commented during his press conference after practice that there was improvement in the Monday practice from the first practice a week and a half ago. Saban also mentioned that Foster was looking good at practice and complimented a few others.
It will be Wednesday before the Tide dons full pads this spring. It will be the first this year suiting up.
The 2016 A-Day game will be played on Saturday, April 16th. The game also counts as the Tide's 15th and final practice for the spring. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT and will again be played inside Bryant-Denny Stadium and is free to the public.

Alabama Football Recruiting
Netori Johnson Still Considering The Tide

Don't count out the University of Alabama when it comes to former Bama commit NETORI JOHNSON out of Buford, Georgia. Sure he was once sure he wanted to head to the Capstone but now is in a "state of flux" so-to-speak, but he still loves the Tide.
Johnson did make the trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to view the opening spring practice at UA. Pretty much shows that Alabama's voice is still calling to him and he is listening.
With a new position coach at the Capstone, Johnson took it upon himself to get acquainted with the man for whom he'd be working should he decide to again commit to Alabama. "I had to get to know Coach BRENT KEY, which is the centers and guards coach," Johnson stated. "If I did attend Alabama, that would be my coach Coach (MARIO) CRISTOBAL was going to be my coach when I was committed, but now he's the tackles and tight ends coach, so it's a little different."
Good sign? Sure it is. On his March 11th visit to watch that first Tide practice, Johnson made a point to connect with the new position coach. Bama is still going after Johnson, and the young man realized this was a relationship that needed to be developed.
Concerning getting to know Key, Johnson said, "Right now, it's casual. We tweet each other here and there. It's nothing like what I had with Cristobal. We haven't gotten on the level yet.
So just where does Alabama stand with Johnson since he withdrew his commitment? Johnson said, "I would say they are still at the top and are being looked at really, really hard by me. I don't have an order anymore, but they are up there."
Though the Crimson Tide may no longer be his clear number one, they are still in his "upper tier." He favors Alabama, Auburn and Georgia. However, he is also considering LSU, Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, Michigan and Baylor.
Johnson made the comment he wanted to play on the next level with his Cedar Grove teammates, referring mainly to Antwuan Jackson and Justin Shaffer. However, the two are not going to the same schools. Jackson is a freshman defensive tackle at Auburn while his current teammate, offensive lineman Justin Shaffer, is headed to Georgia. All things considered, he is getting recruited pretty hard by his buddies right now.
Where Johnson will land is anyone's guess. At least his two buddies are looking at or attending different schools so he can't be on the same team with both. That leaves the door ajar for Bama.

Tide Football Offers Jalen Reagor
Alabama Football Prospect Jalen Reagor
Bleacher Report is reporting that NICK SABAN and the Crimson Tide have extended an offer to play college football at the Capstone to Waxahachie, Texas 4-star wide receiver JALEN REAGOR. The young man made a decision to reopen his recruitment, after having been a Texas Tech commit for three months, after Bama and Oklahoma extended offers.
Reagor would be a valuable addition to the Tide as a wide receiver. He has the pedigree, being the son of of former Texas Tech and NFL defensive tackle Montae Reagor. The young Reagor not only received the two above-mentioned offers, but recently also was offered by Tennessee, Ole Miss and Oregon.
According to Bleacher Report, Reagor commented, "Everything's been going smooth. When I first committed, my dad thought I might have rushed into it. I think I'm right where I need to be now."
The young man has said Tech still remains very high on his list. He doesn't plan to commit to any school in the near future, however. He did mention he wants to visit Alabama, among other schools, this spring.
Reagor said, "The coaching...that's what I'm looking for. The coaching and the overall environment have to be right for me."
