The Alabama Crimson Tide football team was back hard at practice yesterday for two hours in full pads in preparation for its upcoming national championship contest with the Clemson Tigers. It was the first full practice in full gear for the Tide, and the second practice overall, readying themselves to go for title 16.

Six practices have been scheduled for the Tide, and yesterday completes the second of those.

Suspended cornerback TONY BROWN, sent home early and did not play in the Cotton Bowl, appeared to be the only Tide player not practicing yesterday. Earlier Monday, head coach NICK SABAN said, "Tony's suspended and until we get any new information he will continue to be suspended." Brown reportedly had started a fight with a member of the Tide defense.

RAHEEM FALKINS, the wide-receiver who had injured his leg back in the summer, continued to practice but is in a black, non-contact jersey.

The College Football Playoff National Championship will be played on Monday, January 11th at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN with Chris Folwer on play-by-play, Kirk Herbstreit on color/analysis and Heather Cox with Tom Rinaldi working the sidelines. This marks the four time in seven years the Crimson Tide has played for the national championship. The coach (Nick) SABAN-led teams won the title in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

This will be the 16th meeting between Alabama and Clemson, with Alabama taking the last contest 34-10 in the 2008 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta, Georgia. Clemson entered that game ranked number nine in the nation. The Tigers won the first three meetings between the two teams, but now Alabama is riding a 12-game win streak heading into Monday's clash.

Cavin, Brother Of Calvin Ridley, Back On The Market

It's only been two days and South Carolina lost the commitment of one of its main targets, as well as a huge target for the University of Alabama. The brother of record-setting Alabama wide receiver CALVIN RIDLEY has withdrawn his commitment and put himself back on the market. CAVIN RIDLEY, the 6' 1", 198-pound wide receiver recruit announced yesterday that he needed "more time to make this extremely critical decision about my future."

The four-star youngster out of Deerfield Beach, Florida committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks after the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando, Florida on Saturday. AL.com had previously reported that the younger Ridley had made his decision based on the recent hiring of Will Muschamp as head coach and Travaris Robinson going with him. He had earlier said he had narrowed his choices to the University of Alabama and South Carolina.

Not only does Ridley want to put a lot of thought into this crucial decision, he even stated he would forego early enrollment to make the right decision, according to yesterday's tweet from his Twitter account.
