Alabama senior Keely McNeer delivered a season-best 9.900 on the beam in the leadoff for the Tide. Freshman Wynter Childers followed that up posting a 9.925 and freshman Maddie Desch's followed it up with a 9.875. In the fourth spot is was senior Aja Sims with a 9.95 to tie her career-best score. Junior Nickie Guerrero finished things up on the beam with career-best-tying 9.95. With the 49.600 on the balance beam, Bama tied the fourth-highest total in school history.
Crimson Tide gymnastics head coach Dana Duckworth said, "To end on beam with that kind of confidence, that's what is going to make us a championship team."
Besides winning (tying with Sims) the vault, Guerrero also captured the vault with another 9.95. She shared top honors on the beam with Sims. It was senior Katie Bailey taking the victory on the uneven bars with a 9.875 while junior Kiana Winston won the floor exercise with a 9.95.
Starting on the uneven bars, Alabama scored a 49.150 behind a 9.875 from Senior Katie Bailey tallied a 9.875 on the uneven bars, and freshman Shea Mahoney picked up a 9.85 helping the Tide to an overall 49.150.
Duckworth said, "We had a very shaky start. The work we've done on uneven bars dismounts didn't show tonight."
On the vault, Bama posted a season-best 49.375. Guerrero scored a career-best 9.95, followed by McNeer a 9.85, Wynter Childers scored a 9.85, Abby Armbrecht also scored at 9.85 and Baily brought home score of 9.875.
"What we did on vault tonight built a momentum," Duckworth said. "I was so proud of Keely for leading us off like that and Wynter stepping up like that. It was a big deal because that's the event she got hurt on, so I couldn't be more proud of her for what she's accomplished both mentally and physically. I'm also proud of Abby for getting that big vault out there and being rewarded for it. For Nickie to do the best vault of her career and for Katie to keep moving in the right direction on vault, it was a great, great rotation.
The Tide scored a 49.100 on the floor exercise, led by Winston's score of 9.95 and Sims with a 9.9.
"We came over on the floor exercise and have some breaks, but never give up – that was the biggest lesson," Duckworth said.

Five of Alabama's key football prospects are in Tuscaloosa this weekend checking out the athletic department, sports complex, and the overall campus in an effort to determine the "fit". Coaches, administration, team members and students in general will be rolling out the red carpet for some of the finest talent in the class of 2017.
Visiting the Capstone this weekend are 5-star receiver Devonta Smith, 4-star receiver Henry Ruggs, 4-star safety Todd Harris, 4-star defensive end LaBryan Ray and 4-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis.
According to the 247Sports Crystal Balls, Bama is likely to land Smith, Ruggs and Ray. Smith is considered the No. 9 wide receiver in the nation and No. 2 in the state of Louisiana. Ruggs is considered the No. 11 wide receiver in the country, and No. 2 from the state of Alabama. Ray is considered the No. 1 defensive end in the U.S., and No. 1 from the state of Alabama.
Besides Alabama, Smith has shown interest in LSU, Florida State and Miami. Ruggs is giving thought to Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Penn State besides the Crimson Tide. Still in the mix for Ray's services besides Alabama are Florida, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
It is believed that for Harris and Mathis the decision on where to attend college will come down to Alabama and LSU. It should be noted, however, that Harris has had an official visit to Arizona State and is planning another to check out TCU.
