Bama Men's Basketball Host USC Upstate Tonight

There's no place like home.
The University of Alabama men's basketball team will host the USC Upstate Spartans tonight in the Crimson Tide's first home game of December. It will be the first meeting between the two clubs in a game scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. CT.
Alabama is led this young season by redshirt freshman Dazon Ingram, who tops the team in scoring (10.0 ppg), assists (4.0 apg), steals (1.3 spg), minutes (27.1 mpg) and three-point field goal percentage (.455). He is followed by freshman Braxton Key in scoring (9.9 ppg), rebounds (4.0 rpg), minutes (26.0 mpg) and three-point field goal percentage (.429).
Sophomore center Donta Hall leads the team in rebounding (5.9 rpg) and field goal percentage (.654), while ranking second in blocks (1.4 bpg).
The Crimson Tide enters tonight's contest holding opponents to 62.8 points per game. That number ranks second in the SEC and 32nd nationally (as of December 13th).
Overall, Alabama is outscoring the competition by 4.8 points per game (67.6-62.8) as well as out-rebounding opponents by 1.7 rebounds per game (34.8-33.1). The Crimson Tide is shooting .426 from the field and .337 from beyond the arc as a team.
Eli Gold will be handling the play-by-play for the game tonight televised on SECN+, with Wimp Sanderson serving as the analyst and Hannah Chalker at courtside. The game will also be broadcast on radio by the Crimson Tide Sports Network with Chris Stewart handling play-by-play and Bryan Passink donning the analyst duties.

Alabama's Jonathan Allen Named Finalist
For 2016 Rotary Lombardi Award

He's already brought home some pretty impressive hardware, and now University of Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen has been named one of four finalists for the 2016 Rotary Lombardi Award. The Rotary Club of Houston (Texas) made the announcement on Wednesday.
As mentioned earlier, Allen has already picked up some pretty impressive hardware this post-regular season. He has won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and Chuck Bednarik Award, which honor the national defensive player of the year, and the Ted Hendricks Award, which recognizes the top defensive end in college football. In addition, the young man is also a unanimous All-America selection as well as the consensus SEC Defensive Player of the Year.
Allen's resume has been quite impressive this season. He has been an outstanding defensive leader in 2016 on a defense that leads the nation in total defense, rushing defense, scoring defense and defensive touchdowns. He leads the Crimson Tide in quarterback hurries (15) and shares the team lead in sacks (8.5) and has also accumulated 13.0 tackles for loss. What really has thrilled most fans this season i his team-leading two fumble recoveries for 105 combined yards and two touchdowns. He is currently second on Alabama's all-time sack list with 26.5 career sacks.
Besides Allen, the other finalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award are Louisville's Lamar Jackson, Texas A&M's Myles Garrett and Michigan's Jabril Peppers. The 2016 Rotary Lombardi Award winner will be announced at the Lombardi award ceremony on February 11, 2017, in Houston, Texas.

Crimson Tide Football Signs Two JUCO Players

Baker is a 6' 7", 295-pound offensive lineman coming out of San Francisco Community College to join the Tide. He is listed as a four-star prospect, and is ranked as the top junior college tackle prospect in the nation. He is the third-ranked junior college player in the ESPN Junior College 50 and also the No. 4 overall JUCO player according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
A native of Ruston, Louisiana, Buggs is a 6' 4", 290-pound defensive end out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He is rated the No. 1 junior college defensive end in the country and the No. 2 overall junior college player in the 247Sports Composite. He is considered a five-star prospect, and is also listed as the No. 2 junior college player by Scout.com and No. 5 by ESPN.com. He finished this season with a team-high 75 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

Crimson Tide Women's Basketball Hosts Georgia State

The Crimson Tide is led in scoring by junior Meoshonti Knight, who is averaging 12.9 points per game. Sophomore Shaquera Wade leads the way for Alabama in rebounding with 6.8 boards per contest, while freshman Jordan Lewis continues to lead the team in assists at 3.8 per outing.
This morning's game can be seen on SEC Network+ live via the WatchESPN app. Eli Gold will be handling the play-by-play duties, Rick Moody serving as analyst and Hannah Chalker working court side.

Krystal Rivers Picks Up 4th Career AVCA All-America Honor

This year, Rivers was named SEC Player of the Year, leading the Southeastern Conference in kills (705) and points (803.5). She ended her Alabama career as the program's all-time leader in kills, moving into first place in the final week of the regular season before finishing with 2,148. Rivers is also the career leader in points (2,506.0) and ranks among the top five in seven other categories as well.
The Crimson Tide finished the 2016 season with a 20-11 record, marking the third time in the last four seasons the Tide has finished with 20 or more wins, the first such stretch in program history.

Bama Baseball Featured 11 Times On TV This Season
Beginning on March 14th, the ESPN family of networks will combine to carry a total of 98 Southeastern Conference baseball games, 75 of which are scheduled to air on the SEC Network.
Alabama's television schedule begins with opening night of Southeastern Conference play on Friday, March 17th, with the Bases Loaded coverage, featuring every SEC team in a live compilation of seven games on the SEC Network. Alabama and Missouri are scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT start and are part of the second time slot for start times on that night.
Alabama's final two games of opening weekend against Missouri are also scheduled to air on the SEC Network, with Saturday's game set for a 1 p.m. CT start and Sunday's series finale set to begin at noon. Next up will be the MAX Capital City Classic matchup with Auburn on March 28th. The non-conference pairing between the two rivals in Montgomery is set for a 7 p.m. CT start on ESPNU.
Alabama will then host Arkansas from March 31-April 2. The final two games of the series will be televised on the SEC Network, with Saturday's matchup set for a 7 p.m. CT start and Sunday's series finale scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. CT. Then it will be Alabama's series finale in Oxford against Ole Miss on Sunday, April 9th at 3 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.
Then it's another road game on the SEC Network as the Crimson Tide and Mississippi State play a series. The series opener set for Thursday, April 20 and is slated for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch. Alabama will then be featured on ESPN2 in the series opener against the LSU Tigers on Thursday, April 27th, with a 6:30 p.m. CT start.
Next on the tube for the Tide will be Alabama's trip to Auburn. The final game of the weekend on May 7th with the Tigers is scheduled for a 4 p.m. CT start time on the SEC Network. Bama's final nationally televised game of the regular season comes on Sunday, May 14th with Bama facing Florida. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network with a 3 p.m. CT first pitch.
This year's schedule also includes five television wildcard selections, allowing the SEC Network the opportunity to determine the best television matchup at a later date. The schedule closes out with the SEC Network airing the entirety of the 2017 SEC Baseball Tournament from May 23-27, outside of the Championship game on ESPN2 on May 28.
