Football Recruiting Tide-bits
Former Alabama-commit and 5-star running back Cam Akers out of Clinton (Mississippi) High School announced last week that he will no longer make his choice known as to which college he will be playing for when he appears at the U.S.
Army All-American Bowl on January 7th. Akers, instead, has decided to make his commitment
known December 27th on www.nfhsnetwork.com at 7 p.m. CT. His finalists are Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida State.
It should be noted that Alabama is a long-shot in this one, despite the fact Akers still lists the Tide as one of his top teams. Akers has stated that Alabama has recruited him even harder following his decommitment, but the youngster still has not paid a visit to the UA campus since.
The Crimson could actually be the leader for the services of 5-star south Georgia defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon. Numerous teams are in the mix for the young man, including Alabama, Auburn,
Florida, Georgia and Michigan.
