Bama Holds Final Two-A-Days

Yesterday was the third and final two-a-day football practice for the University of Alabama football team. Rain forced the team to move inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility for the 9:30 a.m. morning session. The Crimson Tide worked out in full pads for the morning session, with the second practice of the day at 7:30 p.m. in shells. The rains did clear for the evening session.
The morning and evening workouts yesterday marked the thirteenth and fourteenth practices of the season out of a total of 28 scheduled prior to the start of the 2015 football campaign. Bama will face the Wisconsin Badgers in Arlington, Texas for the AdvoCare Classic inside AT&T Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff on the ABC network.
The word is that senior quarterback Jake Coker's foot injury isn't serious. Coker didn't practice for the second straight session. He is only expected to miss a few days, but this is a very crucial period in deciding who the starting quarterback will be, especially for the opening game with Wisconsin.
As far as quarterbacks yesterday, Cooper Bateman and Alec Morris were getting their work in with Derrick Henry and Damien Harris while David Cornwell and Blake Barnett were working with the backups.
Off to the side was running back Kenyan Drake with a hamstring injury. He has been hampered for three practices now.
Robert Foster was looking much better as his recovery progressed.
Today's practice will be a single affair, as will the practices from this point forward. This weekend the team will hold their second scrimmage inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Classes begin tomorrow at UA.
