4-Star DT Quinnen Williams Commits To Bama

Huge. Indeed. It was another big pickup for University Of Alabama Crimson Tide football yesterday morning. In a ceremony from Wenonah High School, four-star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams selected Alabama as his choice to play his collegiate ball. The 6' 4" , 265-pound prospect from Birmingham, Alabama chose the Tide over Auburn and Mississippi State.  He is now Bama's 17th verbal commit for the class of 2016.

Williams had grown up an Auburn fan, and many believed he would end up there. However, after committing and then de-committing from the Tigers, most saw his selection going to either Bama or Mississippi State.

Arriving at Wenonah High School yesterday morning decked out in his Alabama Crimson Tide wardrobe, it was a safe bet that the Tide was his choice. Williams said that thinking like a fan caused him to commit too soon, and that was to Auburn. But Nick Saban and "the process" got his attention and his devotion, and so he chose Bama. He said he is now 100%  committed to the University of Alabama.

It was Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal who led the charge in the recruiting of Williams. Williams joins Kendell Jones, Khalid Kareem, and Raekwon Davis as the fourth defensive lineman to commit to UA.

Williams was ranked as the eighth-best player in Alabama, and the 22nd best defensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports.
