The Arkansas offense ranks as one of the best in the SEC, and Alabama is putting together and implementing the game plan to slow down, if not stop, the balanced Razorback attack. Alabama's vaunted defense will have to play its best game of the season to get the job done. The offense will will have to shut down the motion penalties, give quarterback Jalen Hurts time to get set in the backfield and open some holes for Crimson Tide running backs. Concentration and execution will be key in this week's contest.
Good news, Alabama fans. Both wideout ArDarius Stewart and running back Damien Harris were both practicing yesterday. This was the second day back for Stewart after having missed the last two games because of a sprained knee. Harris, who carried the ball only twice in the game against Kentucky last week, was wearing a sleeve over his right leg.
The Tide and Razorbacks will do battle this Saturday evening, October 8th, at Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on ESPN. Joe Tessitore will be handling the play-by-play duties, Todd Blackledge will provide color/analysis and Holly Rowe will be walking the sidelines offering on-the-spot coverage of various activities, injuries, strategy and the like.
Alabama leads the series 16-8 (19-7 before forfeited and vacated games), and has won the last nine contests. The Crimson Tide has also captured four consecutive victories in Fayetteville, with the last one being a 27-14 victory last season in Bryant-Denny Stadium for Homecoming.

The 24th-ranked University of Alabama men's golf team finished fifth overall at the 2016 Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate yesterday afternoon at Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Junior transfer student-athlete Lee Hodges led the Crimson Tide with a third-place personal finish of 4-under par 206 on 54 holes. The team finished the day at 4-over par 284.
Overall Alabama finished the tournament with a team score of 18-over par 858 (289-285-284). It was only the third time in the last 11 years that the Crimson Tide
did not win the event.
Alabama men's golf head coach Jay Seawell said, "We are just trying to get better with baby steps. We are getting out of the macro and into the micro, getting them
more into the day to day and shot to shot. I think our guys did a
really good job. I think they are starting to show signs of wanting to
compete, and not getting down on themselves or trying to hard when
things aren't going their way. I am proud they didn't hang their heads,
and I think they ran through the tape which is all you can ask for as a
coach. We still have a lot of work to do. We are a pretty good way from
being on top of the leaderboard but, [yesterday] especially, was a nice step
forward."
No. 3 Auburn won the team title, followed by UNLV, Baylor, UAB and then Alabama to round out the top five.
The Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate was begun in 1986 and is
named for the most successful professional golfer in Crimson Tide
history. Pate currently plays on the Champions Tour and is active in the
team selection for the tournament. He was present Tuesday to present
the trophy to both the winning team and medalist recipient.
Alabama will next travel to Pebble Beach, California to compete at the Cypress
Point Classic being hosted by Stanford University on October 31-November 1.
"The next two or three weeks we need to compete to find the back end
of our lineup," Seawell said. "We have to get those guys playing a
little bit better. We need to correct our issues. We have three weeks,
which is good, so we can go to work and maybe work a little bit more on
some technique things and some physical things that you cannot normally
do when you go back to back. We are looking forward to that, it's going
to be a great trip with match play, so it's going to teach a little
different. We are excited about that, and we get to go to the west
coast, play on a terrific golf course (Cypress Point Golf Club in Pebble
Beach, California) in a place known for golf, so we are looking forward to
the opportunity."
