Saban, Kiffin To Meet With No. 1 QB Prospect
University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban and offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin will be making an in-home visit to the nation's number one quarterback recruit, Shea Patterson, on Wednesday. This according to SEC Country.
Patterson, a five-star quarterback, is a long-time Ole Miss Rebel commit, but will entertain the duo from Alabama tomorrow. Patterson plans to enroll early in college, and in order to beat the NCAA dead period deadline he must take an official visit to the Capstone, if he wishes to do so, no later than this weekend.

University of Alabama running back Derrick Henry is one of three finalists for the 2015 Heisman Trophy Award. The other two finalists are Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. The announcement came yesterday evening on ESPN.
Henry has carried the ball 339 times this season for the ALABAMA Crimson Tide. He has rushed for 1,986 yards this season, breaking the Bama rushing record as well as the SEC record in back-to-back weeks. Records have fallen throughout the season, with five falling in the Iron Bowl alone. During the regular season Henry set the Tide's single-season record for rushing touchdowns at 22. Then for emphasis he punched another one in during the Southeastern Conference Championship Game, which the Tide handily won 29-15 and was named the MVP of the game. He has also set the Alabama single-season record for 200-plus rushing yards at four. His impressive season rushing average is 5.9 yards per carry.
Following the announcement Monday evening, Henry said, "It is a very special honor for me to be selected as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. First I want to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity. The Heisman Trophy has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid and the chance to go to New York as a finalist is amazing. But none of this would be possible without my coaches and teammates. The offensive line, the quarterback, wide receivers and tight ends have done an unbelievable job all season and our coaches always put us in a position to be successful."
The Yulee, Florida native is the fifth Crimson Tide player to be invited to New York since 2009 for the presentation of the Heisman Award, the most of any school in the past seven years. Running back Mark Ingram was Alabama's first Heisman Trophy winner, coming in 2009. Running back Trent Richardson was a finalist in 2011, quarterback A.J. McCarron (runner-up) in 2013 and wide receiver Amari Cooper in 2014.

Ryan Kelly Finalist For Rimington Trophy

When you have players the caliper of those at the University Of Alabama, there will be awards. Senior center Ryan Kelly of the Alabama football team has been selected as one of three finalists for the 2015 Rimington Trophy. The announcement came on Monday.
Kelly is the fourth center from Alabama to be named a finalist for the trophy. The other three are Antoine Caldwell (2008), William Vlachos (2011) and Barrett Jones (2012).
Kelly has been responsible for making all offensive line calls as Alabama's center and senior leader. His average grade-out by the coaching staff is 88.4 percent on the season. On 948 snaps this season he has missed only eight assignments for a success rate of just over 99 percent. Kelly has made 16 knockdown blocks this season, has not allowed even a single sack and only given up four quarterback hurries.
A consensus All-American center pick from three existing All-America teams will select the winner of the Rimington Trophy. Those three are The Walter Camp Foundation, The Sporting News and Football Writers Association of America. Naturally the center with the most first team votes will be determined the winner, however should that not happen and there is a tie with the first team votes, then the center with the most second team votes will win. Should there still be a tie, the winner will be determined by a majority vote from the Remington Trophy committee.
The Remington Trophy was founded in 2000 to honor college football's most outstanding center and was named after Dave Rimington, a consensus first-team All-American center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982.
The 2015 Rimington Trophy will be present live during the ESPNU Red Carpet Show immediately preceding the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards on Thursday, December 10th at 6:30 p.m. CT. The presentation will be held at the Rococo Theatre in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 16th.
