The University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida State University Seminoles will kick off their 2017 college football slate in Atlanta, Georgia this on September 2nd. The venue will be the brand spanking new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Paul Finebaum has weighed in on that game, as well as the 2017 Iron Bowl between the Tide and the Auburn Tigers at the close of the regular season.
It should come as no surprise that Finebaum is the slightest of leans to the Seminoles and Tigers over the Crimson Tide this season. Or at least he believes it to be highly possible. When asked about the Alabama Crimson Tide in an interview on ESPN, Finebaum believes these two, and only these two teams, have a chance at defeating the Tide.
Finebaum believes it will be Alabama positioned at No. 1 in the nation when this coming college football season begins, possibly followed by Florida State at No. 2. He commented, "... Alabama is going to be No. 1 and I don’t think it’s going to be close. The most interesting thing is will Florida State be No. 2. We’ve never had a 1 versus 2 matchup in the opening weekend. We always get that in the final game. This could be the first time. Alabama’s a 5.5 to 6.5-point favorite and I think that’s a very dangerous game.
"Alabama does not have very many dangerous games. Really the opener against FSU and the closer at Auburn, a place where the Tide lost four years ago. Other than that, most of the others games are going to be laughers."

UA Football Defensive Back Target
Jaycee Horn May Push Commitment Date Back
University of Alabama football prospect Jaycee Horn may push his commitment date back a little. Previously the four-star cornerback out of Alpharetta, Georgia said he would make his decision between the Alabama Crimson Tide and South Carolina Gamecocks on July 15th.
Though no solid reason was given for the possible delay in his announcement, Horn says he is still high on Alabama. In fact, he speaks with secondary coach Derrick Ansley pretty regularly.
The Tide is pretty high on the young man's versatility, and looks for him to impact the Bama secondary in the future.
The 6', 174-pound cornerback is ranked as the No. 23 cornerback in the nation, No. 22 prospect in the state of Georgia and the No. 211 nationally ranked prospect for 2018 according to the 247Sports Composite.
