That's All, Folks!
SOMEWHERE_OVER_THE_RAINBOW - This is the day I promised you. It's the last day of the High Tide blog. At least for awhile. I'm make an appearance occasionally, for big stories, such as naming a new baseball coach and the like. I also plan to return in a more limited role at the end of the summer.
Thank you to those of you who reposted for me on Facebook, the retweets on Twitter, as well as the shares on Pinterest, Instagram and others. Most have been very good to me, but quite a few (Twitter) didn't enjoy the personal side of my Tweets. Thanks to those of you who have cared about the recent passing of my mother, and the health updates of my father.
Love my Crimson Tide! But not the Twitter drama so much. I've never mastered the art of posting thank yous without running people off, then not thanking and running more people off. To those who have hung in there with me: Thank you.
I might suggest that in order to see any new posts, add me in your email. That way when I post, you'll get it first in your mail.
Again, thank you.
God bless you.
Roll Tide!

UA rowing head coach Larry Davis commented, "Academic excellence is always what we strive for. To have the team achieve this landmark GPA is truly impressive and exciting. I look forward to our continued academic success in the coming years."
Tide rowing boasted 30 Academic All-Big 12 honorees this semester, including an amazing 27 on the league's first team, which requires a GPA of 3.20 or higher. Of the 176 total Academic All-Big 12 award winners across the league, 20 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA and Alabama was responsible for Big 12-leading six of those 20. In its three seasons as a Big 12 affiliate, Bama has earned 95 Academic All-Big 12 honors.
"This year has truly been a landmark for the program," Davis said. "Not only have we achieved the best spring racing season ever for the program, we also achieved our best academic performance. This has been marked in our awards received through the Big 12 and the SEC, but also with our team GPA being a new benchmark for the program. To achieve this kind of successful balance between academics and athletics is one of our main goals and I am very proud of the team for their success."

Alabama Track & Field Rankings

The national team rankings are compiled by a mathematical formula based on national descending order lists and data taken from previous seasons. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race. Ranking points do not equate with NCAA Championships team points.
The University of Alabama track & field team qualified 19 athletes in 17 events and the men's and women's 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays for the 2017 NCAA Track and Field Championships to be held June 7-10 at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.
